A stylishly simple small oak desk or console table of rectangular form. Mid-century English Cotswold School design in beautifully figured oak, with turned knob handles to the two frieze drawers under a moulded top, raised on chamfered square legs united by an H-shaped stretcher.
Of useful size and height, compact enough for home office use, or as a hallway table. In excellent condition. Equally at home in either a contemporary or traditional interior.
Stamped with the maker’s mark and contract number for Liss Brothers Ltd (founded in 1945 in Croydon, England), AM (for the Air Ministry) and dated June 1956 to the underside of the top. This design was also produced by Gordon Russell Limited of Broadway, Worcestershire.
