In 2015, we stepped through the door of our original premises at the Old Saddlery, Moreton-in-Marsh and knew exactly what we wanted to create. The concept of Artysan Cotswolds was born and continues to grow and evolve here on Sheep Street in picturesque Stow-on-the-Wold. A unique and inviting gallery that feels more like a cosy Cotswold home. Warm, welcoming and distinctly unstuffly; filled with contemporary and vintage country-inspired art, attractively presented alongside antique and vintage furniture and decorative objects.

Mixing old and new in an eclectic decorative scheme, we share a taste of our Cotswold country house style.

Artysan Cotswolds is inspired by English country life and by the legacy of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement. Morris taught “have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” In the late 19th and early 20th Centuries, artists, architects, designers and craftspeople following his inspiration began coming to live and work here. As many of us still do, they looked back to simpler times, before mass production and commoditization. Instead favouring the sympathetic, sustainable use of natural materials and traditional skills in original design, to create beautifully crafted objects.
