A very good quality Arts and Crafts dark oak sideboard in the Glasgow Style, attributed to Harris Lebus of Tottenham, London.
The upper section features a long open shelf beneath an undulating moulded pediment, with a central heart cutout and finely carved whiplash foliate designs. The twin flanking cabinet doors are glazed with characteristic foliate stained leaded glass. All surmounting a beveled back mirror. Lower case comprising two central fitted drawers, recessed storage below and two cupboards with recessed panel doors featuring carved floral motifs. Fine quality copper plated hardware, including original keys. Raised on sledge style feet.
In excellent solid condition, with only a couple of fine cracks to the door glazing and minimal foxing to the mirror, which does not detract.
A beautiful and useful piece.
Circa 1900.
