Interior With Black Vase, After Georges Braque

Art & Decorative

£1,250.00

A well executed colourful version of George Braque’s “Studio with Black Vase” [1938].

Georges Braque (1882-1963) painted this view of his studio in Normandy, incorporating his artist’s palette, a work in progress on his easel and the eponymous black vase, just before the German occupation of France. He used a deconstruction of perspective and volume that he first employed while developing Cubism with Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) in the early 20th Century.

Circa 1960s. Vibrant and decorative oil on canvas, presented in a complementing distressed white frame.

Framed dimensions:

Width: 74 cm (approximately 29.25 inches)

Height: 63 cm (24.75 inches)
