An Arts and Crafts cellarette (a decorative cabinet designed to hold and store wine or liquor bottles) in dark stained oak, by the Jamestown Furniture Company of New York. The firm was established in 1902, when the area was becoming known for its burgeoning furniture making industry, and came to be christened “the Furniture Capital of the World.”
Single door with polychromatic incised wood panel depicting a dashing medieval gentleman above inset green slag glass (opaque pressed glass with a distinctive streaked pattern), over a matching pull-out slag glass tray and two short drawers with square section knobs. Raised on four squared legs with large pad feet and carved stretchers.
