Penny Varley Ceramics
Creations in Clay
What I create
In 2005 I gave up the "Day Job" to launch Penny Varley Ceramics, working from my garden studio in Tysoe, Warwickshire.
Why I create
My work gains inspiration from the organic forms of Edge Hill, my garden and the sea.
How I create
I produce highly glazed pieces, alongside more subtle tones of a matt finish. My domestic ware, which is predominantly made in a white earthen clay, is both practical and a pleasure to use every day.
In 2012, garden sculptures were added to my repertoire. New clays, new glazes and a new firing temperature all added to this exciting body of work.
