What I paint
Pamela lived in a beautiful thatched cottage in rural Dorset. The English countryside was always the source for her work and she was a frequent visitor to the Cotswolds; often staying near Longborough and Winchcombe, which inspired some of her later work.
Why I paint
Pamela very much enjoyed walking, and this pastime took her around Dorset, Exmoor, the Cotswolds and beyond, enabling her to sketch and to get as close to nature as possible. She had a great feeling for the link between poetry, music and painting and always had music playing while she worked.
How I paint
Pamela worked exclusively in oils and all of her work was done with a palette knife. She was particularly skilful at capturing the light and shade of dappled sunlight.
